Energy useWorld Bank · EnergyEnergy use refers to use of primary energy before transformation to other end-use fuels, which is equal to indigenous production plus imports and stock changes, minus exports and fuels supplied to ships and aircraft engaged in international transport.
Energy imports, netWorld Bank · EnergyNet energy imports are estimated as gross imports less gross exports, both measured in tons of oil equivalents (toe). A negative value indicates that the country is a net exporter. Energy use refers to use of primary energy before transformation to other end-use fuels, which is equal to indigenous production plus imports and stock changes, minus exports and fuels supplied to ships and aircraft engaged in international transport.
Total energy tax revenueWorld Bank · ClimateRevenues from taxes raised on energy products (fossil fuels and electricity) including those used in transportation (petrol and diesel). This includes all CO2-related taxes.
Renewable energy consumptionWorld Bank · EnergyRenewable energy consumption is the share of renewable energy in total final energy consumption.
Alternative and nuclear energyWorld Bank · EnergyClean energy is noncarbohydrate energy that does not produce carbon dioxide when generated. It includes hydropower and nuclear, geothermal, and solar power, among others. This is the share of total energy supply that is non-fossil.
Fossil fuel energy consumptionWorld Bank · EnergyFossil fuel comprises coal, oil, petroleum, and natural gas products.

Adjusted savings: energy depletion (% of GNI)World Bank · EconomyEnergy depletion is the ratio of the value of the stock of energy resources to the remaining reserve lifetime (capped at 25 years). It covers coal, crude oil, and natural gas. This indicator is expressed as a percentage of Gross National Income (GNI) which is the total income earned by all residents within an economic territory during an accounting period. It is equal to gross domestic product plus earned income receivable from abroad minus earned income payable abroad.
Investment in energy with private participationWorld Bank · EnergyThe Private Participation in Infrastructure (PPI) Database records contractual arrangements for public infrastructure projects in low- and middle-income countries (as classified by the World Bank) that have reached financial closure, in which private parties assume operating risk. Investment in energy projects with private participation refers to commitments to infrastructure projects in energy (electricity and natural gas: generation, transmission and distribution) that have reached financial closure and directly or indirectly serve the public. The types of projects included are management and lease contracts, brownfield projects, greenfield projects (in which a private entity or a public-private joint venture builds and operates a new facility), and divestitures. Investments are classified as one of two types: (1) Investments in physical assets: resources the project company commits to invest in expanding and modernizing facilities and (2) payments to the government: to acquire state-owned enterprises or rights to provide services in a specific area or to use radio spectrum. Data is presented based on investment year. Data are in current U.S. dollars.
Adjusted savings: energy depletion (current US$)World Bank · EconomyEnergy depletion is the ratio of the value of the stock of energy resources to the remaining reserve lifetime (capped at 25 years). It covers coal, crude oil, and natural gas. This indicator is expressed in current prices, meaning no adjustment has been made to account for price changes over time. This indicator is expressed in United States dollars.
Public private partnerships investment in energyWorld Bank · InfrastructureThe Private Participation In Infrastructure (PPI) Database records contractual arrangements for public infrastructure projects in low- and middle-income countries (as classified by the World Bank) that have reached financial closure, in which private parties assume operating risk. Firms adopting energy management measures to reduce emissionsWorld Bank · OtherShare of companies adopting energy-saving practices to reduce emissions over the past three years.
Electric power consumption (kWh per capita)World Bank · EnergyElectric power consumption per capita.
Oil rentsWorld Bank · EnergyOil rents are the difference between the value of crude oil production at regional prices and total costs of production.
Fuel exportsWorld Bank · EnergyFuels comprise the commodities in SITC (Rev. 3) section 3 (mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials). This indicator is expressed as a percentage of merchandise exports which is comprised of goods whose economic ownership is changed between a resident and a non-resident and that are not included in the following specific categories: goods under merchanting, non-monetary gold, and parts of travel, construction, and government goods and services n.i.e.

Mineral rentsWorld Bank · EnergyMineral rents are the difference between the value of production for a stock of minerals at world prices and their total costs of production. Minerals included in the calculation are tin, gold, lead, zinc, iron, copper, nickel, silver, bauxite, and phosphate.
Natural gas rentsWorld Bank · EnergyNatural gas rents are the difference between the value of natural gas production at regional prices and total costs of production.
Electricity demandEmber · EnergyElectricity demand: generation plus net imports.
Access to electricityWorld Bank · EnergyAccess to electricity is the percentage of population with access to electricity. Electrification data are collected from industry, national surveys and international sources.
Fertilizer consumptionWorld Bank · AgricultureFertilizer consumption measures the quantity of plant nutrients and is calculated as production plus imports minus exports. Fertilizer products cover nitrogenous, potash, and phosphate fertilizers (including ground rock phosphate). Traditional nutrients--animal and plant manures--are not included. Because some chemical compounds used for fertilizers have other industrial applications, the consumption data may overstate the quantity available for crops. Fertilizer consumption as a share of production shows the agriculture sector's vulnerability to import and energy price fluctuation. Most fertilizers that are commonly used in agriculture contain the three basic plant nutrients-nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Some fertilizers also contain certain micronutrients such as zinc and other metals that are necessary for plant growth. Materials that are applied to the land primarily to enhance soil characteristics (rather than as plant food) are commonly referred to as soil amendments.

Net electricity importsEmber · EnergyElectricity imported minus electricity exported; negative for a net exporter.
Ores and metals exportsWorld Bank · EnergyOres and metals comprise the commodities in SITC (Rev. 3) sections 27 (crude fertilizer, minerals nes); 28 (metalliferous ores, scrap); and 68 (non-ferrous metals). Exports of services are services provided by residents to non-residents. This indicator is expressed as a percentage of merchandise exports which is comprised of goods whose economic ownership is changed between a resident and a non-resident and that are not included in the following specific categories: goods under merchanting, non-monetary gold, and parts of travel, construction, and government goods and services n.i.e.
